What People Are Saying
-**Indulgence does not have to be a sweet dessert or expensive purchase. The best gift you can give yourself is to attend a Yoga class under Tara’s instruction. The benefits you receive are not superficial, nor are they temporary; rather, you leave the room with knowledge you can apply to other avenues of your life. (Not to mention how strong and flexible your body becomes over time.)
Through Yoga, Tara has taught me how to look inside myself in order to experience peace, stillness and serenity. She has taught me to trust my own intuition and that we all have the power to control our thoughts and reactions. Her teachings are unparalleled because she is such a gentle and caring person, and freely shares her wisdom and knowledge. She has such inner beauty and radiates warmth and spirit.
As we work our bodies at various levels from beginner to advanced, Tara’s focus is on the individual needs of each person in the studio. She teaches the benefits of breathing and always has positive, motivational thoughts and readings prepared for each session.
Anyone who has experienced Tara’s genuine talent for teaching has become an instant Tara fan. I am so thankful she has touched my life in so many incredible ways and am so very proud and grateful to know her.

-**Tara “holds the space” with a fresh and light spirit while still being very focused and reverent.
Her sequences flow along and yet she builds to them carefully and always encourages each yogi to trust their knowing and body over anything she is leading. Her magical essence allows for a true time of renewal. The quotes and thoughts added really are the cherry on top.

-**I have both enjoyed and learned a great deal in the past 9 years that I have been taking a yoga class with Tara. Her classes are truly a place of serenity and relaxation, where I can breathe out the stresses of daily life. Tara is a especially unique teacher in that I can learn at my own pace, and she is attuned to each students individual needs!”

-**Tara is the first yoga teacher who has inspired me to keep coming back and continuing to practice yoga. I always recommend her class to beginners for this and many other reasons. Her manner is warm and gentle and full of positive energy. She’s such a serious teacher but always has a smile and bits of humor to remind us not to take ourselves so seriously. In this way she reminds us that our practice is a humble endeavor and even though we may struggle sometimes and find things easier at other times, our path can be one of steady and continuous growth. Her directions are always clear and thorough, with a poetic cadence that flows like a rhythm, sort of a quiet sound track that doesn’t get in the way of concentration on our movements. I think it is an illusion how she seems to practice along with the class, yet somehow manages to move around the room to be sure our form is correct before the next brief demonstration, which she does with effortless grace.
Following Tara’s class, I always come away with more compassion for myself. Life can be stressful and often it’s difficult to stay positive. Troubles seem to fade into the distance. When Tara begins, she shares with the class a theme she has carefully chosen, often reading a passage by a wise sage. So often I am amazed at how if I had taken the time to think about the current atmosphere of my life that day, usually it is exactly what I would have chosen as my focus! Tara’s Vinyasa class flows from pose to pose so smoothly that the hour is done before it seems like 15 minutes have passed. While it never seems overly difficult, I always feel that I have stretched myself and improved my abilities just enough and not too much.
Tara encourages us to listen to our bodies and to modify the pose to something that seems less strenuous, always looking out for what is best for ourselves. With confidence to know that I should never feel harm, it is easy to have greater motivation to do my optimal best.
I am never disappointed in what Tara offers in the hour. She has a strong intuition to know what her students need. With what seems like the greatest of ease (surely it’s her years of observing and listening) she senses the pace and level of difficulty that are necessary to keep the group’s energy and motivation high. Sadly, whenever I haven’t been able to make time to attend Tara’s yoga class, I realize that there is not much that I can do in an hour that makes me feel healthier and happier.

– *I have been a student of Tara’s for about 8 years. Tara has a wonderful talent for combining a well rounded yoga class with inspiration and recommendations for dealing with life situations outside of class.
Tara has a theme for each week’s class. While the themes are universal, they seem to speak to each of her students individually. Each week, I hear students tell Tara at the end of class how perfect the theme fits to their life experience.
Tara varies the session each week and always gives instruction to the class on variations to suit different levels and how to adjust based on possible limitations, such as knee, shoulder and back tenderness. She reminds us to honor our bodies, to think positively and to live in the moment. Tara also provides advice on breathing techniques to be used for stressful life situations and insomnia.
Tara’s classes have given me so much more than outstanding yoga instruction. They have improved my confidence, my ability to deal with stressful situations and my general outlook on life. She reminds us that we always have choices, and we can choose our reactions to everyday situations. I regularly report home to my family what Tara’s theme of the week is, and repeat the quotes that she reads at the end of the class. We all learn from Tara’s wisdom. I’ve brought my 15 year old daughter to some of Tara’s classes, and she benefited from the instruction as well. She has started asking me what the theme was, even before I get a chance to report it to her. She is benefiting from the classes, albeit sometimes from a distance. I leave Tara’s class feeling energized, balanced, limber and peaceful.

-**After all these years of taking your classes, listening to your teachings, sharing thoughts and wisdom’s during and after class, it has had a profound effect on me for the better. Things look more in perspective, I don’t worry as much like I used to, I sleep better on days I take classes, the list goes on and on.
Even when things get crazy, I try and remember, ‘what would Tara say’, and Tara would probably say, ‘you can always come back to the breath’, and this is what I do to slow things down, calm down, and refocus and recenter. If there is only one thing I ever take from your class, (impossible, I have taken so many things ) that would be lesson number one, always come back to the breath is one that sticks with me.
Tara, you see the smiling faces of the people when they leave, I see the number of people that come up to you after classes, I see the same faces week after week after week showing up, what does that say? That says you have a profound effect on many people’s lives, I would like to think that even if one tenth of the people that take your classes commit one good deed somewhere, that is multiplied and multiplied, and so on over and over again.
I just wanted to thank you again for your wonderful work, I can not tell you how happy I was to find a great instructor and classes that you teach, and remember, there are many other people in class that feel same as I do. We are lucky to have you, from the bottom of my heart to you….

-**Hi Tara…I just came home from taking your Saturday morning Yoga class. I have been coming to this class for about 9 years. I noticed today that your class was SO FULL ! I think the class size is a tribute to the wonderful job that you do. You have mastered what you do. The spirituality, and calming effect is a wonderful addition to the fabulous workout that we all benefit from. I find myself bragging about my yoga teacher often. I love you and all that you have given to me with your kindness and patience.

-**Tara’s style of teaching is inspiring and motivating. I continue to attend her classes after more than 8 years, never feeling bored and coming away from each class with a new discovery of what my body can accomplish. Tara has shown me what a truly gifted teacher she is and her classes have helped me to deepen my understanding of yoga.
A new student will be easily guided to a level of confidence by Tara’s words. She perfectly describes the subtle nuances to a position that will open it up in a new way. Her guidance is universal yet I feel as though she is talking directly to me with her instruction. Every year attendance in her classes grows and grows!
Those who know me know that if the subject of yoga arises I will brag about having the best Yoga teacher in the county!

-**I have practiced Yoga on and off for a number of years. Since April 2007, however, I have been practicing Yoga on a steady basis with Tara Korn and have found a greater joy and meaning in my practice. Tara gives to her students a strong basis in the physical aspect of Yoga through knowledge and practice of poses and form, but more importantly, she emphasizes the concept of the “whole person” and how this relates to the practice of Yoga.
Far too often, Yoga classes that I have attended become a competition to see who can contort their body into a particular pose. Many instructors seem to only want to show off their flexibility and endurance. Tara, on the other hand, is a Teacher in the finest sense. She truly cares about the well being of her students and employs a gentle approach of listening to your body, not causing harm, and finding the space and expansion within yourself to push your body to that “gentle limit.” Her approach is truly uplifting.
What makes practicing with Tara so wonderful and special is the emphasis she places on the powerful mind-body connection. Tara brings the true meaning of Yoga as union of the mind, body and spirit to each of her classes. For each class, Tara chooses a theme and shares her experience. She ends her class with thought provoking quotes and sentiments that set a beautiful, peaceful tone for the day and beyond.
Her philosophy of caring for the whole person, mind, body and spirit along with our interconnectedness to the universe, makes each and every class with Tara an exceptional experience. I look forward to my practice with her and am so grateful to be able to share a special bond. Tara is a unique individual and a blessing.
Namaste,
